Two members of MCIJ awarded for investigative journalism

Aleksandar Manasiev and Aleksandra Filipovska both journalists in the daily newspaper "Dnevnik" and members of MCIJ received special recognition for their exceptional work by the award committee of the Macedonian Institute for Media in March 2010.

Aleksandar Manasiev revealed the scandal with the firefighting aircrafts that Macedonia acquired from Spain. With a series of 12 texts Manasiev revealed all details of the contract for the supply of aircraft which directly influenced the Macedonian government to act more responsible.

Aleksandra Filipovska wrote about the contentious procurements of the Ministry of Interior of Macedonia through the firm Link Media. Her texts have opened many questions about a possible crime in all procurements.

The journalists were awarded for development of investigative journalism in Macedonia.
